NHFIC Annual Report 2020–21 released

The National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation (NHFIC) released its Annual Report for 2020–21.

2020–21 highlights include:

AFFORDABLE HOUSING BOND AGGREGATOR (AHBA)

  • Approving more than $1 billion of loans and grants to community housing providers, supporting over 5,800 dwellings.
  • Issuing 3 bonds totalling $805 million, including its first sustainability bond.

 

NATIONAL HOUSING INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITY (NHIF)

  • Developing a strong NHIF deal pipeline, with approved facilities of almost $200 million to support infrastructure projects across Australia.
  • Committing $111 million in NHIF grants and loans to unlock new housing supply.
  • Expanding NHIF rollout with approved financing in two new states: South Australia and Victoria.


FIRST HOME LOAN DEPOSIT SCHEME (FHLDS)

  • Launching the New Home Guarantee (NHG).
  • Helping 13,261 Australians purchase their first home through the FHLDS, and 6,155 Australians build or purchase a newly built first home through the NHG.


RESEARCH

  • Launching the inaugural flagship State of the Nation’s Housing report, focused on housing supply and demand projections, and issued 4 other research reports.
  • Hosting 2 webinars, including one focused on regionalisation of the workforce.
