One of NHFIC’s core responsibilities is conducting research into housing affordability in Australia. This section contains research and data analysing factors contributing to housing affordability trends, such as household incomes, housing prices, and the market dynamics surrounding the supply of housing.
This resource reports on affordability calculations based on data from the Survey of Income and Housing, dis-aggregated by housing costs as a proportion of income, as well as the internationally accepted ‘30/40’ indicator.
