Additional FHBG places now available
The Australian Government has directed NHFIC to rollover around 1,100 unused First Home Buyer Guarantee (FHBG) places from the 2021-22 financial year into this current financial year.
These new places will be available from Thursday 24 November 2022, taking the total FHBG places available in 2022-23 to over 36,000.
Eligible first home buyers can apply for one of these FHBG places through a Participating Lender before 30 June 2023.
FHBG places are part of the Home Guarantee Scheme, an Australian Government initiative to support eligible home buyers to purchase a home sooner. Standard income and prior property ownership tests, and minimum age, citizenship, owner-occupier and deposit requirements still apply.
On 1 July 2023, another 35,000 FHBG places will be available for the 2023-24 financial year.
